Last updated: May 22, 2026Privacy PolicyCookie Policy

By accessing or using CVWiser, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms apply to free and paid use of the platform.

Who we are

CVWiser is operated from Belgium. These terms govern your use of the CVWiser website and application at cvwiser.com. For questions about these terms, contact us at support@cvwiser.com.

Use of the service

You may use CVWiser to create resumes, cover letters, and track applications. Keep your account information secure and do not share your login details. You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter a binding agreement to use paid features.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse CVWiser. In particular, you must not:

  • upload or generate illegal content;
  • impersonate another person or employer;
  • misrepresent your qualifications or employment history;
  • use the service to harass, spam, or defraud others;
  • use automated tools (including bots or scrapers) to access, extract, or copy data from the platform without our written permission.

Content responsibility

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide. Generated documents are based on your profile and the job description you supply. You are solely responsible for reviewing and submitting application materials to employers.

Intellectual property

You retain ownership of the personal information and CV content you provide. Subject to your compliance with these terms, you may use generated documents for your own job applications and exports.

CVWiser owns the platform, software, design, templates, branding, and the underlying systems used to process your inputs and produce outputs. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of CVWiser's technology or service to you.

Data and privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. Analytics and cookies are described in our Cookie Policy.

We store the data you provide to operate the service, including:

  • your profile (work history, education, skills, and links);
  • generated CV and cover letter content;
  • job descriptions you paste for tailoring;
  • application tracking records and account settings;
  • billing-related metadata as described in the Privacy Policy.

We retain your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we remove or anonymise personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep certain records for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or billing purposes (typically up to seven years for financial records where required by law).

Billing and subscriptions

Paid plans and one-time purchases are processed securely by Stripe. Subscription billing cycles (monthly or yearly), renewal dates, and plan status are shown in your billing page. Prices and plan features may change; any change to recurring pricing will apply from your next billing cycle after notice where required by law.

Refund policy

Pro subscriptions are generally non-refundable and remain active until the current paid period ends after cancellation. PAYG purchases are non-refundable once generation is successfully delivered. We may review exceptions for duplicate charges or verified failures to deliver purchased output.

Account termination

You may stop using CVWiser or cancel paid plans at any time through your account settings and billing page. We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms, engaged in abuse or fraud, failed to pay amounts due, or used the service in a way that harms CVWiser, other users, or third parties. Where practicable, we will notify you by email before or after taking action.

On termination, your right to access the service ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including billing obligations already incurred, intellectual property, limitations of liability, and governing law) will continue to apply.

Service availability

We aim to keep CVWiser available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime or error-free operation. The service may be unavailable during maintenance, outages, or events outside our control. We may modify, limit, or discontinue features, or stop offering the service altogether, with reasonable notice where feasible.

Limitations of liability

We strive for accurate generation, but we are not responsible for hiring outcomes or decisions made by employers reviewing your applications. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CVWiser is provided "as is" and our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Any dispute arising from or relating to these terms or your use of CVWiser shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Brussels, Belgium, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules that may apply in your country of residence.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated terms on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Where appropriate, we may also notify you by email or through an in-app notice. Continued use of CVWiser after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the service and cancel any paid plan.
